Dr. Janice O’Brien is an Army brat, having grown up in various military bases. She graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a BS in Engineering. She then attended veterinary school at Purdue University in Indiana. As a veterinarian, she served in the US Army Veterinary Corps for five years in Texas, deploying once to the Middle East. She then moved to Virginia, where she has been both caring for pets and working on her PhD in canine nutrition epidemiology at Virginia Tech. She enjoys discussing nutrition research when the opportunity arises. Outside of work, she enjoys running and crocheting. She has a fluffy gremlin of a Pomeranian who keeps her on her toes.
