Hi, I’m Delphi and I’m here to introduce my feline counterpart, Adrian, and human, Cecilia!  

First about me…I’m American Staffordshire pup. My mom’s favorite color is blue, and so am I – some people think I’m a gray pup, but officially I’m blue.  

I love being outside because there’s so much to explore. We used to live in Colorado where my human, Cecilia, earned her degree in veterinary technology from Colorado Mountain College. We moved to Virginia and I have new places to discover. I’m glad my human loves to hike as much as I do.  

I share my home with a feline sibling named Adrian. That’s all you need to know about him. Back to me, I love treats and belly rubs. 

Okay, about my amazing human, Cecilia – she has been working in the veterinary field for eight years and she really enjoys surgery, anesthesia, ultrasound, and radiology. Cecilia wanted to work as a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) because she was interested in biology, medicine, and wanted a career where she could help pets.  

She does a great job on taking care of Adrian and me, so I know from firsthand experience that when you bring your pet to Hollymead, my human will take really good care of them.  

Hello, I’m Grand Duchess Thyra, and yes, the “Grand Duchess” part is very important. 

I allow my human to reside with me in my “castle.” My human, Dr. Jenna Garza, is paws-down the smartest human I know.  First, Dr. Garza received her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in psychology from the University of Texas in Dallas. Then she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M. Like I said, she is smart (just like me!)  

My human chose to work in the veterinary field to combine her interests in medicine and psychology with her passion for helping animals. She especially enjoys dentistry, emergency medicine, and surgery.  

I co-habitate with a group that isn’t as fancy or regal as I am, but my human has a soft spot for “strays,” so I’ll allow it. I live with El Jefe Gustavo, a feline mischief maker who is always stealing food and thinks he is the boss of our home. Then there are the dogs – Sergio, the Belgian Tervuren, who likes to chase bubbles and sneaking on the couch, and the trio of Great Pyrenees – Austin, Red and Izzy – who love naptime and digging bunkers. Oh, and I can’t forget Pikachu, the betta fish, who may or may not be silently judging our antics from his bowl.  

Dr. Garza’s hobbies include reading, glass art, canning, traveling, and working out. My hobbies include providing nursing care when my human is sick, getting as much attention and kitty cuddles from my human as possible.  

Hi all! My name is Fern and I’m a German Shorthair Pointer who loves to chew on toys and bark. Some people might find my barking less than ladylike, but I must share all the good things about my human, Kristin.  

Kristin has been helping animals for quite some time. She started her career working in shelter medicine for seven years; my human was the best at making sure the dogs and cats in the shelter received extra love and attention. For the past four years, my human has been a veterinary assistant, and she is enrolled in the LVT program at Penn Foster.  

Kristin has a lot of ambition; her goal is to work as a licensed veterinary technician and then become a practice manager at a veterinary hospital. I think it’s awesome that my human wants to continue to grow in this field because she does such a great job of helping pets and their humans.  

When my hardworking human isn’t at Hollymead Veterinary Hospital or studying, Kristin enjoys fishing and decorating. Personally, I’m a big fan of anything that involves being near her. 

Hello ladies and gents, my name is Legend and I’m kind of a big deal. Just ask my human. I’m a big brother to Rowdy James, a Yorkie, Grit (another German Shepherd – he’s cute, but not as handsome as me), and Maverick, a Bengal kitty. I enjoy my furry siblings but my favorite in the whole world is my human, Maggie.  

Maggie is legendary (just like me) because she has been taking care of pets for 28 years, which is 196 in dog years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Findlay and her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Columbus State. I don’t fully understand the degrees, but I do understand that she takes her job seriously and always makes sure her patients get top-notch care. 

Our human is dedicated to making sure that when your pets come to Hollymead Veterinary Hospital that they are treated just the way she takes care of us. If your pet is feeling well enough to get treats, our human will make sure they get cheese or cookies. Speaking of treats, Rowdy James and I love blueberries, doggie Oreos and pup cups from Dairy Queen. My brother, Grit, is not picky at all and eats whatever he can gobble down.  

When Maggie’s not taking care of patients, she enjoys photography, horseback riding, and gardening. Maggie is an excellent caregiver because she takes us on car rides, hiking adventures and going to pet events – we love to be outside and social!  

Hi, I’m Kovu, a pitbull and tug of war champion, and I’d love to introduce you to my favorite human!  

Terra has a passion for helping pets, and she has been in the veterinary field for six years! My human has done a lot in those years as a kennel attendant, veterinary assistant, and client service representative.  

My human is also quite smart; Terra earned her Associate’s degree in science from Blue Ridge Community College and studied Animal Health and Behavior through Unity Environmental University. And she’s not stopping anytime soon—her goal is to go to veterinary school one day (which I fully support, as long as I still get enough attention). 

When my human isn’t at work, we spend time hiking, enjoying movie nights and having snuggles on the couch. Terra also enjoys horseback riding, playing video games, and baking sourdough bread.  

I do have siblings which include Vitani, a Great Pyrenees, Zira, a domestic shorthair kitty, and Cappuccino, a ball python. Of course, my favorite companion will always be Terra!
